This is a contract between Bradley Ball and the client, for the self-help services described in Part I below.

I am the “legal document assistant,” and you are the “client.”

Important Notices

You should read and understand this entire contract before signing it. You should understand the types of services that I can and cannot perform for you, as explained in Part I below.
I am not an attorney. I cannot perform the legal services that an attorney performs, and I cannot engage in the practice of law.
The county clerk has not evaluated or approved my knowledge, experience, or the quality of my work.
I cannot keep your original documents if you request that they be returned to you. I also cannot keep your original documents if:
- You and I do not sign this contract.
- This contract terminates for any reason.
- All services under this contract have been completed.
It is a violation of California law for me to keep your original documents under any of these circumstances.
It is a violation of California law for me to make any false or misleading statement to you.
I cannot obtain special favors from, and I do not have any special influence with, any court or state or federal agency.
As required by law, I have filed a bond or made a cash deposit and have registered as a legal document assistant in each county where my principal place of business is located and where I maintain a branch office.

I. Self-Help Services

Services I Can Perform

I can perform the following self-help services in connection with a legal matter in which you are representing yourself:

Type or otherwise complete legal documents that you have selected, as you specifically direct.
Provide general published factual legal information that has been written or approved by an attorney to help you represent yourself.
Provide published legal documents.
File and serve legal forms and documents as you specifically direct.

These are the only types of services that I can perform for you. If you need additional services, you require the services of an attorney.

Services I Cannot Perform

I cannot provide any self-help service unless you are representing yourself in a legal matter and the service relates to that legal matter.

I cannot engage in the practice of law. This means I cannot provide advice, explanations, opinions, or recommendations concerning:

Remedies
Defenses
Strategies
Options you may have
Selection of forms

Description of Services

Living Trust Package

The Living Trust Package includes:

Preparation of Revocable Living Trust
Pour-Over Wills
Certificate of Trust
Durable Powers of Attorney
Advance Health Care Directives
Miscellaneous Estate Planning Transfer Documents
County/State Fees
Feaux Leather Binder, Separators, and Slip Case

You are paying me only for the services listed above and no others.

It is unlawful for me to make any guarantee or promise unless it is written in this contract and I have a factual basis for making the guarantee or promise.

II. Fees and Expenses

You agree to pay me the following fees, costs, and expenses:
A. A flat fee in the total amount of for all services, costs, and expenses, to be paid as follows

NO UPFRONT PAYMENT. FULL BALANCE DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF USPS DELIVERY
TIME/DATE STAMP. PAYMENT VIA CREDIT, DEBIT CARD, ZELLE, OVER THE PHONE.
CLIENT RESPONSIBLE FOR CALLING IN PAYMENT. NO OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT
WILL BE ACCEPTED.

III. Cancellation

You may cancel this contract for any reason within 24 hours after both parties have signed it.

If you cancel the contract, I must immediately refund any fees you have paid. The only fees I may retain are fees for services that I actually, necessarily, and reasonably performed on your behalf during the 24-hour period.

I cannot retain fees for services performed during the 24-hour period unless you knew those services would be performed and agreed in this contract that I would perform them.

How to Cancel

To cancel this contract, send me a written notice stating that you are canceling the contract.

Mail the notice by first-class mail with the correct postage to my address listed in Part V below. Cancellation takes effect on the date shown by the postmark.

You may also cancel the contract by delivering a written notice of cancellation to my address within the 24-hour period.

Additional Reasons for Cancellation

You may also cancel this contract at any time if I:

Fail to provide you with a copy of this contract before providing services.
Fail to specify the services I will perform and the cost of those services.
Fail to provide a copy of the contract in English and any other language you understand that was principally used during an oral sales presentation or negotiation leading to the execution of the contract.

If you cancel for any of these reasons, I must immediately refund all fees you have paid.

You may also cancel this contract at any time if you have legal cause.

IV. Attorney’s Fees and Costs

In the event of suit for damages arising from this contract or to enforce any of its provisions, the court may
award the prevailing party his or her reasonable attorney's fees and costs.

V. Venue

The venue for any action arising from a dispute between you and me is the county in which you have your primary residence.

Notices to the Client
You may obtain information from the local bar association or a legal aid or legal services office regarding free or low-cost representation by a lawyer.

You may contact the local police, sheriff, district attorney, legal aid office, or legal services office if you believe you are the victim of fraud, unauthorized practice of law, or another injury.
